Our Church's Story

 Our Church was founded in the fall of 1959 as the follow up to a tent meeting in the area. A small but devoted group of Christians started meeting in the Waverly Lions Club building for $2.00 a week. The small group was recognized later in the year for having the largest attendance in the county: 49 people. 

    In 1978, the group, which was averaging around 75 people decided to build a church building with one of the members, taking out a mortgage on their home to pay the expenses. Our church still meets in that building which has had two Expansions 1 a foyer & Classrooms the 2nd was the addition of a multipurpose room.
